In March 2024, I participated in the Slovak national competition, Artistic Spectrum. The competition is exclusively organized for non-professional artists without formal education, providing an amazing opportunity not only to showcase one's work but also to meet other talented artists.
The works are evaluated by academic painters and professionals, which adds significant value to the event. I am proud to announce that my work, 'HumAIn Kind', earned an Honorable Mention in the first round of the competition in Bratislava county and advanced to the final national round. I am extremely grateful for the award.
The exhibition is open until May 26, 2024, at Zichy Palace in Bratislava. Afterward, the artworks from all counties will collectively move to a different city for the final round of the competition.
'HumAIn Kind' competed in the category of Digital Art. The artwork was drawn by hand using an iPad and Procreate. The process of drawing can be found on Royal Eyes Instagram.
The portrait represents humanity at present, as we encounter artificial intelligence for the first time. Simultaneously, it questions our humanity. AI unflinchingly confronts our human nature, our fallibility, and imperfections. It offers us the opportunity to discover grace toward ourselves, others, and our planet. The painting embodies hope for salvation, for a better tomorrow, and for a better version of ourselves.
As a symbol of this encounter, there are no humans depicted in this image. The portrait is hand-painted according to an AI-generated model
