Hi, I am Maria Mazuchova, visual artist and author of Royal Eyes. I am a self taught painter, photographer and (not that self-taught) graphic designer.

About Royal Eyes

I began the Royal Eyes project because I believe that what we see, or choose to see, greatly influences us. My greatest fascination lies in the fact that what we perceive through our eyes can leave a lasting impact on our lives. Images, much like words, stir our emotions, alter our thoughts, and even shape our experience of existence. The world we inhabit desperately needs better news, more kindness, inner growth, open-mindedness, forgiveness, and gentleness. That's why I have dedicated myself to creating a body of work that will provide observers with the most transformative experience possible and, hopefully, leave a positive impact. Because every look matters.
More about the artist
I started my journey as a photographer in 2014 and I was quickly drawn to photo manipulations. Years later, in 2020, I discovered a passion for painting. Mostly influenced by Salvador Dalí since my youth, I love to explore unusual connections, paradoxes, and depict an unreal world in realistic portraiture through my artworks.

The favorite subjects of my work are the human soul, the human mind, and the wonders of the Universe. From my perspective, these topics are merging together. I often lose myself in observing the complexity of the world, trying to absorb it all at once, realizing my own smallness - which I oddly find comfortable. In the physical demonstrations of the world, I see a great chessboard ready for us humans to play it right (or wrong - sometimes). There are big chessboards, or tiny ones, chessboards within chessboards, endless opportunities for us to learn, grow, feel, observe and do better. And all of that could fall on the altar of inspiration.
